Movements from the box-room fort

For a while now I've been wanting to begin documenting my journey to living more resourcefully. Downsizing as a former hoarder. Surviving, and thriving.. in a small space. I've been sharing a house in Greater Manchester with some wonderful human beings since summer last year, and nested through winter in my box room that I've PACKED with bits and bobs ..belongings that I simply haven't been able to let go of over the years. It's been motivating to realise I can actually live in this small space (minus kitchen and wardrobe space) ..and my aim is to take my maximalism down to a more condensed form in time for my travels later on in the year.

Lots of my hoardings are things I've collected (much of this being rocks, moss and twigs.. my friends can vouch for me that this may have gotten slightly out of hand) and my plan is to keep thrifting these things together to make lovely gifts and trinkets. My favourite rainy-time activity to play at lunchtime in primary school was the tessellation tray. There was always something so greatly satisfying about finding things that just go together. I get the same buzz from finding the perfect fit for something I've held onto for ten or perhaps, twenty, years. Downsizing this way is going to be a lengthy and unpredictable process, but I'm excited to start!

Ultimately, I want to use this platform to share my creations and ideas and hopefully inspire some tips and tricks that some of you might find handy. Many of these things will be for sale or to give away, so if there's something that catches your eye, let me know and I would be honoured to post out to you if it's available.

Much love,

Han X
